Family Home Cleaning Day

What better to do on a cold rainy day than a little Fall cleaning. So I took advantage of the kids and hubby home on a holiday to get some deep cleaning done around the house. I made a list of chores to be done this morning and called it family home cleaning day.

I started the mounds of laundry and bedding. Then dusting ceiling fans, blinds, etc. Dad started dusting rooms and the boys wanted to help so they each had their little dust rags and went at it. But, Chris ended up sneezing so bad I took over. He can't handle dust in his nose. Even when he is outside digging in the dirt or mowing grass he ends up having sneezing fits. He then took over the kitchen. The boys were so eager to help. Caleb wanted to do the kitchen floor, toilets, dust, and vacuum. He enlisted Jacob to help. Now if only I could preserve this ambition for the next 15 years I would have it made. They went from one job to the other. Oh the satisfaction of working together happily and accomplishing a goal. The boys usually like to help me around the house but it was especially fun to see them take on their own initiative and do things on their own (the best a 2 and 4 year old can do) like pulling out the vacuum and running it like a pro trying hard to push that thing around. Also to hear Caleb as he helped Jacob put his clean laundry away in his room and complimenting Jacob on doing it right.

Aahhhh that fresh clean feeling.... even if it's only for a moment.

That is so cute! Joshua likes to "mop" the floor. He thinks it's ultra special, and then wants to mop the cement porch... eheheh!

Hey, I just thought of something. Whenever I don't want to do something, all I have to do is start sneezing!! Buahahahaaha!!

I just had that deep clean yearning yesterday. Unfortunately, I was home alone. Well I had Logan and Parks in the morning, but I guess I just wanted them to play and let me clean. I need to teach to be productive.
My house hasn't had a real cleaning since before the Najdawi's came. Yuck! that's way back in June. So I got the boys room dusted good. I always hear them sneezing at night. Poor things. But the blinds behind the bunkbeds are just too hard to get to. I pulled and yanked my vacuum up the bunkbed ladder and rested it on my foot and top rung to try to reach the blinds. It was a hap hazard job. I really need to get to my closet and the toy room. SHEESH! Talk about pig sty.
